   To stand and peer into Black Rock Tunnel, the light on the other side seems but an arms length away.  But once inside walking toward that light, cold damp blackness chills the spirit, as the light at the end of the tunnel retreats .  Once reaching mid tunnel, the point of no return, the ears scan the dead silence to assure the imagination that the distant rumble is not an oncoming train.
  From a cautious walk to terror run you flee what now is the entrance to hell. Ghostly groans of the unfortunate track gang 
dying as the figure of a boy carrying a water bucket appears at the tunnel entrance, haunts the eternal midnight.
   From the ceiling a splash of icy cave sweat smacks your face.
Telling the imagination to stop, the angry glare of a headlamp appears at the now so near end of the tunnel.  Only imagined, the burning eye of the locomotive makes the company of ghost welcomed friends in compare.
