Flanked on either side by the two black horses, the five mules wonder if the horses are only pretending to pull.

The mules boast amongst
themselves of their strength, saying, "we could have the farmer hitch up a wagon
to
the tail of the disc, and let the horses go for a ride." With bowed heads,
the horses pay no mind to the mules.

Sitting on top the disc harrow in an old office chair, the farmer with a gentle voice asks his team to get up.

As the afternoon wanes toward evening tide, horses, mules, and man ponder on supper time.

On the other side of Rank Church Road, an eight horse team pulls a liquid manure spreader tank.

With no one at the reins, the eight horse team wait patiently as the liquid manure is pumped into their tank.

Two horse team pull a roller harrow.

Making the turn at the end of the field, five mules pull a disc harrow with the farmer sitting on a bail of straw.

Two mule team pull the manure spreader feeding the soil that will in turn feed them.
